The Big Give 2022

Have you dreamed of making a difference in your community? Of helping to create theatre that is critical to the culture of San Antonio? This Thursday, September 22nd and Friday September 23rd you have a chance to be a part of South Central Texas’s day of giving – an opportunity to help The Overtime Theater, part of the first industry to close due to the pandemic. We’ve resume operations and are excited to continue in to bring new works to the community.

We need your help! Please join our campaign and help us reach our goal of $2,000! We need you to tell your friends and family members about the joy, laughter, and tears we bring to the stage and the community.

Get ready to give! On September 22-23, visit our page and make a donation to us and/or to any of the great participating nonprofit organizations in South Central Texas. All giving will end at 5:59PM on September 23, so make sure to get your gift in on time!

If you want to know the absolute best time to donate during The Big Give, then it would be during a Match Minute. These are special times that your donation up to $100 may be doubled by a match from The Big Give. Eligible Match Minutes for The Overtime are:

  • Thursday at 6:09 PM
  • Friday at 8:09 AM
  • Friday at 12:09 PM
  • Friday at 4:09 PM
  • Friday at 5:09 PM

Open House

Join us March 22nd as we celebrate our fourth Big Give with an Open House from 5pm until 7pm.. We’ll have refreshments and information on our workshops and upcoming productions, as well as ways to donate.Plus our Host will be the fantastic Richard Wilmore who will be interviewing actors and directors! What is The Big Give? The Big Give S.A. is a 24-hour day of giving that brings donors and nonprofits together by creating a shared region-wide experience and connecting people to the causes that matter to them the most.

The long standing mission of The Overtime is to create “theater for the people”. We are the gateway theater for people to discover the wonderful social relationship that theater offers. We have had numerous success stories come from patrons telling us they had never been to a live theatrical production before and that their experience has confirmed that they will definitely be back for more. Some of our favorite repeat patrons are those who had never been to a theater show before visiting us.

We Need Your Help

Because we produce original and adapted works, our funding source are limited.  We are dedicated to providing original, innovative, and accessible entertainment at an affordable price with ticket prices at $10-15. Ticket sales alone are not enough to keep our doors open. Your donation of any amount helps us to keep original theater in San Antonio. We are unique! We are for YOU! We are….

With your support the Overtime Theater can continue to focus on producing new, original works at an affordable price and extend its mission to the greater community, including through planned, low-cost classes in acting, comedy improv skills, and art workshops by working professionals.
